Mach-RGA
Functionality
The JAS Refinery Gas Analyser is based on an Agilent 7890 GC with two thermal conductivity detectors and one flame ionization detector plus a special JAS valve solution including packed and capillary columns.
The JAS Mach-RGA puts the three channels in parallel so that only a single injection and a very short time is required for comprehensive and precise analysis.
The main operating principle of the Mach-RGA is based on column switching. Because of the small difference in thermal conductivity of hydrogen and helium the detection of hydrogen takes place on a separate TCD with nitrogen as carrier gas. The second TCD with helium as carrier gas is used for the detection of the permanent gases. At the FID, the hydrocarbons will be detected separately, up to C5 - C6 and heavier will be shown as a composite peak at the beginning of the chromatogram.
